Pilates continuing education, chosen on purpose
For Pilates and yoga teachers who want the next workshop to actually change Monday.

Pilates continuing education has a way of piling up. A reformer weekend here, a fascia talk there, a certificate of completion in a drawer you never open again. We'd argue the useful question isn't what's on the calendar this spring. It's what keeps going sideways in your Tuesday 6 PM class.
Start with the class that bugged you
Think back over the past month. Maybe there was the guy with stiff hips who never quite found his bridge, or the 9 AM regular who has plateaued and knows it. Maybe you caught yourself answering "it depends" and hoping nobody pushed. Those small moments make a better shopping list than any catalog. Jot two of them on your phone and look at them before you book anything.
Sit in on someone else's discipline
STRENGTH Collective is built on a fairly simple idea: you get better at your own method by spending time inside somebody else's. Give a Pilates teacher one afternoon with a physical therapist talking about shoulder blades and her plank cues change by Monday. A yoga teacher who hears a coach explain load starts looking at the warrior twos in her room a bit differently.
So we run five series, not one. PLTS+ is the Pilates one. YOGA+ puts yoga next to training, recovery and nutrition. WMN+ and MN+ cover women's and men's health, LIFE+ is about longevity, and CNXCN+ is mostly about meeting the people who do what you do.
A quick filter
Picture yourself next Monday with an actual client on the mat. Would you use the thing you learned? If the honest answer is "probably not, but the slides were gorgeous," skip it and save the fee. Sessions led by people who still teach every week tend to pass that test, which is why a Collective day leans on workshops, movement and hands-on time, with long breaks to talk to whoever is sitting next to you.
What one weekend held
PLTS+ Collective in Austin is a decent example of range. Saturday opens with an 8 AM mat class, then Holly Swanson's business workshop on auditions and pay. After the networking lunch comes kettlebell fusion with Madeleine Conti, and Dr. Morgan Rodriguez closes the afternoon with a session on neck and shoulder pain in Pilates. Sunday brings breath and posture, a professional panel and Erin Schirack's workshop on music for Pilates class. A month later there's a virtual follow-up on business and anatomy and on programming, by which point you've had four weeks of real classes to test things against.
When a workshop isn't enough
Some gaps need more than ninety minutes. If you teach fast group classes and your programming feels stuck, the 12-hour Signature Group Fitness Pilates Teacher Training by Erin Schirack, in partnership with STRENGTH Collective, goes deep on building classes and coaching several levels at once. It is not a traditional Pilates certification, and it doesn't pretend to be. Weighing something much bigger, like a comprehensive program? Read is Pilates teacher training worth it before you put a deposit down.
Making it stick
Workshops fade fast. Our rule of thumb is to pick one idea before you leave the room and teach it within a week, ideally to the client you had in mind when you signed up. If it flops, fine. You learned something about that client, and frankly that counts for a lot.
A wider circle
Some of the most useful learning sits right next to Pilates rather than inside it. Our notes on women's health fitness are one place to start. Every Collective series, with what's open now and what's still being confirmed, lives on the events page.
Questions
What is Pilates continuing education?
Anything structured you learn after you are already teaching. Workshops, longer trainings, mentoring, even a session on physical therapy or nutrition if it helps the people on your mats.
Should I study outside Pilates?
We think so, and our whole event format leans that way. Hearing a physical therapist or a yoga teacher explain their side of a problem tends to sharpen your own cueing.
What does STRENGTH Collective offer?
Five education series for fitness and wellness professionals. PLTS+ is the Pilates series, with Austin on November 7 to 8, 2026. Dates and cities for the other four are being confirmed.
